Your class can partner with a classroom from another region or even another continent!

  • ClassConnect can work with classrooms of any level! 
  • ClassConnect can work with email and good ol´ paper letters too.
  • Class-to-class friendships can continue on as person-to-person friendships for a lifetime but often it takes a teacher to open the door.

Imagine your class busy writing letters and doing spontaneous, enthusiastic research on other cultures out of the pure desire to get to know their friends from another country! 

PeaceBike visits about one school every week and most of the teachers at these schools want to connect with another classroom to share letters, pictures, and packages throughout the year!  Many classrooms in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America, New Zealand, and Australia are already sharing their cultures with each other in this way. And PeaceBike has schools in other countries ready to connect! Your students can join in this adventure as soon as you apply to PeaceBike ClassConnect.

The Application Process:  In the PeaceBike ClassConnect Form (link at the bottom of this page) you, the teacher, will be asked a few questions that help us match classrooms.  

First, you will be asked to include such items as your school´s address, students´ interests, and any special requests you might have.  
Second, PeaceBike staff will reply to your application by email and begin working on a match.  
Third,  in our email reply we will ask you to send a letter  to PeaceBike on your school´s letterhead requesting to join PeaceBike ClassConnect, with a $30 dollar payment (fee is waived for schools in developing countries; others unable to pay may ask PeaceBike for a scholarship or a sponsor to help to cover the fee.)  On receipt of your official letter and fee we will send you ¨getting started¨ information with your matching classroom's contact information.  This program is fully supported by educators and we are ready to work with you on ideas, questions, or help out should any problems arise. Why is there a $30 fee?
  • This fee is used to defer the costs of helping schools in developing countries pay for postage, paper, envelopes, and writing supplies for this program.  Because of this fee we can make this program accessible to every class that wants to connect!.
  • This fee is also used to defer costs of PeaceBike staying in touch with the PeaceBike Classrooms that are in the ClassConnect program.
  • No school will be denied participation if unable to pay. Please let us know!
