We had a few errands to do and pretty soon it seemed like the whole
town knew we were in Sangareddi. Penny is trying to avoid the crowd by staying next to the
tailor that was sewing her PeaceBike flag and I decided to record the moment. This
is only about half of the crowd that was watching us the entire time we were there

As we headed out of Sangareddi we were joined by a number of local
cyclists who either hopped on their bikes to talk with us or were going the same direction
anyway

These women were farming but when we stopped to ask for directions they
gathered around Penny. It seemed that they were sharing advice but our Telegu was
not so good. However, both parties did a lot of smiling

Penny enjoys some gum from the US as she rides. There was very little
traffic on this quiet, well-paved road, a rare combination

We were unsure whether or not these approaching cows were going to
stampede towards us but we decided to take a picture with these shepherds and local kids anyway

Passing through one small village ended in a kids' fun-run. They kept
up with us for a few hundred meters and then we kept calling

The building behind Penny is where we stayed the night before. We knew
only a few words of Telegu but between a few knowing some Hindi and our Hindi phrasebook
we were able to communicate that we were looking for a place to stay. We were taken
to this community building which was the office for the president of the village

At least two of the small villages that we passed through between
Sangareddi, Andra Pradesh and Bidar, Karnataka had these old turret-like structures. We did not
know enough Telegu to ask what they were

On this day our beautiful road seemed to disappear into muddy potholes.
This continued for a few kilometers and then we were back to a fairly well paved road
