November 26: A tour of Guerrero Negro, Baja Sur Mex
Today, I got through grand tour of Guerrero Negro. First, I got to
sleep in, which wasn't part of the tour. Then Alfonso took me to the dunes
of Guerrero Negro. The locals often picnic at the dunes on the weekends.
After this we had a quick lunch before Alfonso went to work. He had an in-service
meeting which he got out of early by saying that he had to show his nephew the
salt factory.
We got to go to this factory which was called Exportador de Sal. They are
the largest manufacturers of industrial sea salt distilled from ocean water.
After walking around a part of the equipment one of the salt truck drivers
offered us a ride on ye old salt wagon. These trucks make semis look like hot wheels.
The variety of experiences on this trip never ceases to amaze me.
