March 12-13:   Resting up and Hotel without Power, El Something, Oaxaca

Well, we ended up spending the rest of that day in Totolapan because right when we were about to go it started to pour.

Within about 15 minutes branches were blowing off trees and we were very glad we were not on the road.

I got a chance to sign Diana, the daughter of the owner of the restaurant we are staying at, up as a penpal.

We went to the small video store that night and I treated the gang to a video.

Payback was a bit more explosive than I would have liked but it seemed to suit everyone fine.

13th we rode to the next town and found a hotel. I was mildly harrassed by a few drunks but nothing a little sense of humor couldn't handle. They made themselves look bad, that's all.

We found a hotel and paid and then were told there was one minor detail - no power. We enjoyed our cold showers and the place to stow the gear. We tented outside due to the mosquitos in the room.

Peace(Bike),
