April 30:   A bus ride to Uxmal! Rancho Uxmal, Uxmal ruins

Yes, you read that right, a bus ride. I decided that where safety or visa pressures were present I would take other modes of transport to get to where I needed to be. I only have a few more days in my 90 day visa for Mexico and I don´t want to pay to renew it for another 90 days. Therefore, I will be bus hopping and biking to the eastern coast of the penninsula and then down to Belize where I will used PeaceForce as my main mode of transport. All those purists out there are welcome to hop in the saddle of PeaceForce for a while and pedal on my behalf.

I got to Uxmal after dark and realized that there was no town, only a few Ritzy Hotels and the ruins. It wasn´t too sticky though because I pedaled just 5 kms to Rancho Uxmal. There they let me set up my tent under their watch and all was well. I tried out my new soy protein in my pasta tonight. Not bad but room for improvement.
