"On the Trail"
Sunday, October 22, 2000: The Jungle Adventure is about to begin! - Should
be Shell, Ecuador
Tad here,
This morning I got up, opened the door to sunshine and headed out to read my new ¨biketrip-size¨ Bible. It had been awhile and it felt really good to get back in and discover and remember. Frank said, when he saw I was reading it, ¨Hey, I want to read that with ya! I am going to give it a shot again.¨ That was cool.
We headed out to the Allan´s other house to say good morning greetings and then went off for breakfast together and some internet time. We have been, in the background, working on a trip to the Jungle. We realized that this may be our last jungle opportunity until southern Brazil and the Allan´s gave us a connection with a Jungle Pilot who is going to fly us into some indigeneous villages that are very remote.
We are getting together hats, mosquito repellent, boots, and flashlight, and recharging camera batteries. Will head out on bus to Shell, near Puyo and from there plan to fly on a military plane into the jungle and then meet up with Rick, the pilot connection to fly deeper into Ecuador´s Amazon basin.
Obviously, we will be out of internet connection for a bit but will give you a full report when we are back.
Let the wild jungle rumpus begin,
TAD
