Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000: Getting to know Lima! Janet`s and Family, Rimac, Lima, Peru

Frank was coming in today by bus. He planned to bike as far as he could and then leave his bike, bus in, meet a friend from Canada, and then, at some point return to his bike and bike in.

I wasn`t sure that Albert and Nelly were ok with another person and I wasn`t sure Frank could handle the high ramp circus act with his difficulty seeing at night so I worked on another situation and ended up working out with Janet and her family for the two of us to stay with them. I packed up my stuff and did the few blocks ride to Janet`s.

Frank showed up later with his small bag of stuff and we both fit just fine in the guest room. It was very nice having a fully furnished bathroom, shower, kitchen, and couches. I did some more internet and then came back and watched a movie about F.T. Barnum, the man behind Barnum and Bailey`s Circus! He took creative risks and just kept trying, expanding, and re-inventing entertainment.

Then after Janet`s studying we decided to go out and catch a Lima concert. We got into a little concert free because it was halfway over but still a lot of fun. Then we found a place to do some salsa dancing. I was glad to have had those lessons with Beto. We made it back via bus which is quite an adventure in itself.
